NACC Coach Development Bursary Scheme Now Open! – By Yusuf Karolia

The continued support and development of aspiring and existing coaches across the spectrum remain an important priority for the south Asian cricketing community (SACC). With this in mind, the NACC are once again delighted to announce the NACC Coach Development Bursary Scheme in association with the ECB Coach Development team.

Last year in the first phase of this programme, in addition to crucial financial support to the successful candidates, following a robust application process before our Coaching Bursary Committee, we were also able to offer invaluable mentoring support to new and existing coaches.

We are also able to highlight that all of the bursary funds were distributed across the SACC with the final breakdown of coaches awarded as –

Specialist (Level 4) coaches x 2

Advanced (Level 3) coaches x 9

Level 2 coaches x 3

Foundation 1 x 4

Without a doubt, the first stage of the bursary programme initiative has made a tremendous difference to the journey of the aspiring or advanced coaches who were successful in the bursary application and much of this partnership work was down to John Neal, ECB Head of Coach Development.  We are incredibly appreciative of John’s efforts in making sure that cricket coach training development remains open for all members of the cricketing family. We are grateful to John for working with us on this programme and supporting our team to deliver a fair and transparent process reaching the very people who continue to make a difference in their specific environments.

John Neal, ECB Head of Coach Development said  “Our purpose at Coach Development is to Support anyone to become a great cricket coach…who will develop & inspire every player so I am really pleased that through NACC we can partner to take further steps forward on our journey together”
